Performers like Rich don't write music. The music he releases is created by the corporate music machine. To keep this short, there are talented writers that can produce cookie cutter garbage because they're talented enough to write it. Some of my favorite Americana musicians do this and I'll share one song that I find excellent from a guy who had a heavy hand in "inventing bro country" when he was a teenager. Guys like Brent Cobb make an excellent living selling packaged BS to the machine while simultaneously creating some of the world's most beautiful music at the very same time.
