Emails reveal Jeffrey Epstein was invited and met Baylor president Ken Star in Waco on campus in 2012
Kenneth Starr, the late President and Chancellor of Baylor University in Waco,
had well documented ties to disgraced New York financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. But emails show that Starr corresponded with Epstein during his tenure at Baylor and even went so far as to host Epstein on campus at least once.
Files previously released by the US Department of Justice
revealed Starr's email correspondence with Epstein in the years before Epstein's 2019 death in a New York City jail. But new emails released as part of another tranche show that Epstein and Starr kept up with each other during Starr's tenure as Baylor President.
Starr, a Vernon, Texas native who died in Houston in 2022,
previously served as a "fixer" for Epstein according to Miami Herald
Starr would be announced as Baylor's new president on Feb. 10, 2010.
Per Baylor's website, he served as the university's president starting June 1, 2010. And once Starr became the head honcho at Baylor, he continued corresponding with Epstein. On March 6, 2012, Epstein emailed Starr writing that "it's been too long." In response, Starr implored Epstein to visit.
"My friend, my brother - all is well. Come see me. Otherwise, I'll come knocking [sic] on your door,"
Starr wrote back six days later.
And come see Starr, Epstein did. In July of 2012, within the timeframe that Baylor lists Starr as its official president, Epstein appears to have traveled to Waco to see Starr on Baylor's campus.
The visit is well documented.
An email sent July 24, 2012 between Epstein's assistant (whose name is redacted) and Starr confirmed that the men would meet in Waco on Monday, July 30. The thread included Epstein's longtime pilot, Larry Visoski, who asked Starr which airport they should fly into; Starr told Visoski to fly into TSTC Waco Airport, and that Starr's assistant, Jennifer Jarvis, would coordinate the visit and arrange transport to and from the airport.
"We'll meet Jeffrey at whichever airport, and get him to campus (not far, regardless of the airport choice), and zip him back. Not to worry about ground transportation," emails show Starr telling Visoski.

Jarvis agreed that TSTC Waco Airport was best for "smaller, private plans [sic]." According to one message sent to Jarvis, Epstein was accompanied by his then-girlfriend Karyna Shuliak, whom he dated from 2010 until his death in 2019.
Jarvis arranged for two assistants, Jeff Wittekiend and Angela Gray Oliver, to pick up Epstein from the airport to see Starr at
Pat Neff Hall, which housed Starr's office.
An itinerary that Lesley Groff, Epstein's longtime assistant, sent to Epstein lays the visit out. Epstein and Starr were to meet from 10:30 to 12:00 pm that day.
Visoski, the pilot, wrote to Jarvis on the morning of July 30 that he was starting the plane's engines.
A follow-up email, in which most names are redacted, says that the plane had landed and "he's on his way."
