Epstein files release

Attia's response on the Epstein emails.

Frankly, IMHO, a BS excuse filled spin. Simply not even close to good enough. I would have been so much more impressed with "Hey, I was trying to get into the world of billionaires, he was a way in, and even though I knew he was a pedo, I decided to go for it knowing I wasn't going to be the one raping the kids. Shitty decision at the time, but now I own it."

Instead, we get the "Doot, too, doo. Oh, poor me, I just met this eccentric billionaire and jeezy weezy, turns out he was a world infamous pedophile. Dang, I sure look childish now doing locker room talk with the pedo who had pedo island. Sure wish I would have known."

Crazy things:
-"I asked him about his conviction and he called it "prostitution-related". Oh, FFS, did you live under a rock? It was all over the news. If you met a billionaire who was convicted, you wouldn't spend the 30 seconds googling to look it up? 100% not believable.
-"I've grown up in the 10 years since." You were 42 years old! Give me a break. Just think how mature you will be when you are 70! By then, you may be a decent human.

So frustratingly disappointing and disgusting. He should be persona non grata after this. I would not have been as surprised if it was Huberman who had done something like this, but Attia shocked me.

My understanding is Huberman is not mentioned.

But, I agree that if I had been guessing before, I would have suspected Huberman before Attia.

And, there are those saying, "Thanks for coming clean..." Whatever.

...
why haven’t there been any charges or arrests of the people pictured or named in the Epstein files?

Speaking in an interview on February 1 on CNN’s State of the Union, the Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche addressed this.

He said that the DOJ is not considering bringing any additional charges related to Epstein, despite the releases over recent months.

He said: “I can’t talk about any investigations, but I will say the following, which is that in July, the Department of Justice said that we had reviewed the files, the Epstein files, and there was nothing in there that allowed us to prosecute anybody.

“The entire world can look at and see if we got it wrong.”

Blanche did admit that the materials released do contain disturbing material, such as photographs, emails and correspondence, but emphasized that this did not meet the threshold for prosecution.

Blanche added: “There’s a lot of horrible photographs that appear to be taken by Mr. Epstein or people around him, but that doesn’t allow us necessarily to prosecute somebody.”

Being mentioned or photographed in the Epstein files is not enough to suggest wrongdoing.

Blanche also called on people to temper their focus on Donald Trump and said that, though he is mentioned more than 1,000 times in the documents, many of the allegations involving Trump came from anonymous tips or unverifiable sources.

He added: “It turns out, there was a number of claims made by either … anonymous people or somebody, for example, calling and saying, ‘I used to have a roommate who told me this sensational story.’

"So just, you know, obviously that’s not something that can be really investigated, right? ‘What’s your roommate’s name? I don’t remember,’ So that’s what that’s about.”

Trump has previously denied any knowledge of Epstein’s sex crimes and claimed that his relationship with Epstein had soured.

In a statement shared when the files were made public, the US Justice Department reiterated Trump's denial of these accusations.

The statement said: “Some of the documents contain untrue and sensationalist claims against President Trump that were submitted to the FBI right before the 2020 election."

Blanche added: “There’s a lot of horrible photographs that appear to be taken by Mr. Epstein or people around him, but that doesn’t allow us necessarily to prosecute somebody.”

Which is why in the past the politicians who were involved in such filth were forced to resign. There is a huge difference between associations that force someone to prison and associations that break the public trust. The idea that these scumbags should get to stay in office unless a full prosecution happens is ridiculous.

Going back to holding politicians accountable no matter which party. That would be real "MAGA."

Belfast University severs ties with former US senator over Epstein links

Queen’s University Belfast is to remove the name of George Mitchell, a key architect of the Good Friday Agreement, from a peace centre due to his links with disgraced paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

A bust of the former US senator will also be removed from the university grounds. Mr Mitchell chaired the 1998 peace agreement negotiations and served as the university's chancellor from 1999 to 2009.

A Queen’s spokesperson said: “Queen’s University Belfast has taken the decision to remove the name of its former chancellor, Senator George J Mitchell, from the Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice, and to remove the bust commemorating him from the University campus.

“This decision follows the emergence of new information contained in the Epstein files released on Friday, which include references to Senator Mitchell.

“While no findings of wrongdoing by senator Mitchell have been made, the university has concluded that, in light of this material, and mindful of the experiences of victims and survivors, it is no longer appropriate for its institutional spaces and entities to continue to bear his name.

“As a civic institution with a global reputation for leadership in peace, reconciliation, and justice, Queen’s University Belfast must ensure that its honours and symbols reflect the highest standards consistent with its values and responsibilities.”

A spokesperson for Mr Mitchell told the BBC on Monday: “Senator Mitchell profoundly regrets ever having known Jeffrey Epstein and condemns, without reservation, the horrific harm Epstein inflicted on so many women.”

The spokesperson said Mitchell did not at any time observe, suspect or have any knowledge of Epstein engaging in “illegal or inappropriate conduct with underage women”.

It’s interesting that some foreign governments (UK and Slovakia) have taken steps to force resignations.

Makes you wonder what intelligence agencies around the globe actually know and why their leaders have been forced down while ours who should know more than anyone has been neutered.

I’m starting to believe you enjoy being on the wrong side of history. You know this isn’t going to end well, right? There’s been so much smoke, I don’t see how you can’t know there is definitely fire here.

Enjoy your coffee.

Like I said, if there's proof, impeach and convict all of them, if there's proof the DOJ has been covering it up then that house needs to be cleaned too.
