Just wondering. I've donated to Pokes w/A Purpose but they seemed to have gone dark, for me, after the College "deal".
I mean we need to be able to donate to our school's NIL stuff - you have lots of $ at really large schools and they brag about their $ pot.
Who/how is running our $ pot and how to donate to it?
Thanks

It seems they want you to contribute to something to do with revenue sharing. I’ve had a couple of guys try to explain it but I don’t get it.

Read the Bill Haisten article about Gundy. He talked to the founder of PWP at a tailgate Saturday. He had some things to say.

This is what we need to do, go all in:

Virginia Tech has proposed adding an extra $229 million to its athletics budget over the next four years to help position the Hokies to compete with the top programs in the ACC, a crucial moment with the hire of a new football coach looming.

The school's board of visitors will hold a virtual meeting Sept. 30 to consider the adjustment. In materials posted on the board of visitors web page, Virginia Tech is asking for an additional $47.1 million for 2026-27, bringing the total athletics department budget to $190.1 million. That number would increase to $212.1 million for 2029-30.

By raising prices on everything? Seats, parking, concessions, required donations, what else? Raising the overall athletic budget isn’t the same as asking donors for money is it?

To be clear, I 100% agree with your premise. We are at a crossroads as a university. It’s all in or 10+ years of irrelevancy which will destroy everything else.

Maybe a private equity group will start buying college football programs and turning them into football flippers.

This is where we are headed.

I have a similar opinion. I believe each NFL team will “own” a college team, which will serve as a “farm club” for their respective team. Maybe there will be some sanity and rules and contracts moving forward. College sports can’t stay on this path it’s on now.

Me likey

They are getting nothing from me until they change something with football anyway
So “they” have changed “something” with football. Was that enough or you still waiting? Personally, I’m waiting. Primarily because I don’t understand the process and whoever was in charge of going out and getting football players didn’t do a good job. So I’m not “wasting” my money. I’m keeping my powder dry.

I am as well.
