CS Fullerton at OSU

Although I’m not impressed by Lutz—and admittedly was not a fan of the AD’s choice—we have an injury-laden roster. Hopefully, we’ll be healthy before conference play begins. If not, I don’t know how we win more than a handful of games. Even if we are healthy, it’s still going to be difficult to win more than five games.

Time to get the grill going for some ribeye action. Anyone near Owasso? Feel free to message me and stop by. See y’all next time.

"We're 11-1 and that one still eats at me."

"We have to get back to the drawing board on the defensive end...again"

"We have to learn to play with poise and discipline and an edge"

"Our transition defense is embarrassing for the players, the program and me."

"We have to get some guys healthy so I can hold some other guys accountable"

"Isaiah was a bright spot"

All true. Let’s get it done.

He is saying all the right things in his interviews, it's not translating to the floor though...yet. The good news is 11-1. If they can keep their top 7-8 healthy for the entirety of conference play, this should be a tournament team.

I don’t think Lutz is all that stoic. I spend a lot of time watching him and he has a good balance of energy from his box. Thursday night he spun and slammed the table. Today after several substitutions he had very intense words for the player leaving the court. Other times like in the 2nd half after Roy had already been yanked for turnovers he pulled him again and didn’t even glance his way. It was clear he was ticked.

I also think he handles the officials pretty well. I watched Duke Tech last night and the Tech coach is insufferable. Just stop w the whining after every call. Lutz knows some you get and some you don’t. And he knows when to push the gas w the officials. I’m a fan.

Defense is communication and rotation. We just are not athletic enough at the 5 to guard the high ball screen and that causes rotation problems. My biggest complaint is losing men in transition. We give up way too many points bc we don’t get to the right men.

As for the timeout tech. Listening to Dave on the drive home he said he asked the player who “called” the to. Player said the big w the rebound is named Landon and he yelled “Lando. Lando” to try to get him to kick the ball out. Ref thought it was time out time out.

I would bet it’s family members wanting him to be a 20ppg superstar and make millions so they can get paid too. Just a hunch.

Seen this story before and reading through Lutz’s words, he’s trying to protect the young man.

That was my thought, too. Pure speculation, but they're probably telling him to transfer since he's not the "star" and not starting. He's getting better and better. Still needs to work on shot selection :)
