Maybe not a secret but definitely not anything privy to the average fan...there's more to people than the diamond...it is painfully evident how much fans don't know about these athletes.
I believe there could be arguments for what Eberle has or has not done as a coach. However, I am also aware of things that should be considered before grossly under-valuing the quality of this pitching staff.

God awful loss!! Struggled against subpar pitcher who finally one a game today!
Team loss in all 3 phases
Pitching was trash, defense was subpar, and offense stranded 9 runners today. Not a lot positives from this game and puts a damper on the series

And honestly, we just went 4-5 against 3 teams below us in the standings. It only gets harder.

If this team makes it to regionals, it will be a successful season IMO…anything else is a bonus and that includes hosting
What a disappointment. BYU pitcher came in to the game with a 9.9 era and a 2.47 WHIP. She was almost loading the bases every inning. That might be the only conference game BYU wins.
Ruby has pitched 69.8% of innings in conference and 58.9% of overall innings this season. Last year she was at 70.5% and 58.7%. These numbers are really high even for HCKG, especially since OU and Texas aren’t in the conference anymore. Two years ago, Kilfoyl was at 53.8% in conference. The last pitcher over 60% in conference was Eberle (surprise!) at 62.3% in 2021. Maxwell was out for several starts that year.

KG's ability to bring in great pitchers is what built this program. Over a few years he had:

Arnold/Kilfoyl
Kilfoyl/Rosenberry
now just Ruby
With only one good arm, the rest of the program's shortcomings get exposed during the season instead of just in OKC.
