Cowgirls at UCF

This is a Thursday-Saturday series. UCF is pretty decent 25-17 (6-9 in league play) and #29 in the RPI. Today's game starts at 5.

They pitch really well (2.64 ERA) and don't hit all that great (.274 BA).
At 6-7 in league play, this series is basically a must win for the Cowgirls. Maybe not sweep, but must win 2 of 3.

“You only lose if you don’t learn from it,” Tallen Edwards said. “We’ve been carrying that with us. This isn’t what we want. We want to win more than anyone, but we gotta keep rolling until it clicks for us.”

“It’s obviously something where I’ve put them in a bad spot somewhere,” Gajewski said. “I don’t know where. I don’t feel like I’ve changed a whole lot. But I’m not pushing the right buttons, for sure.
“We’re just not a very good team right now. It’ll be up to us to turn it around.”

I know there's more to it than meets the eye, but if you show them data on their patient ABs versus their quick and impatient ones, I'm sure there's a major difference.

Edwards and Godwin have been trending upward lately. Davis almost always produces. Hasler continues to improve. IMO Bloodworth needs to be moved way up in the lineup. The next step is for hitters like Delgadillo, Wark, and one other to be more consistent.

I know next to nothing about slap hitting and softball strategy.

Does it make sense to put both of our slap hitters at 7&8 in the lineup?

I actually like the way McDonald has been playing.
