just like football, there’s some seniors that have been around too long..drew blake is one of them. Brueggeman and Phillips is also one as well. At some point you have to make the decision to bench them.

Blake is a senior that can’t throw strikes. The freshman had a rough outing, but your 5th/6th year senior needs to come through

I think since it was midweek they were just throwing some arms out there to try to get a few cheap outs. But Blake pretty much ignited their comeback bid by coming in and walking the only 2 he faced and loading the bases. He has not ever been very good from what I’ve seen over the years.

It’s one thing if you’re a young guy like Winslow. He got rocked pretty hard. It’s another when you’re a 6th year kid like drew Blake. I expect him to throw strikes at the very least. His pitches weren’t remotely competitive. I think like a lot of 5th/6th year kids regardless of sport tend to struggle badly for various reasons. I just don’t think he should part of the pitching plan going forward IMO.
