Surprised was not mentioned (my apology if I missed it somewhere) but the team of Fouad Messaoudi (1200 meter 2.49.49), DJ McArthur (400 meter 46.82), Hafez Mahadi (800 meter 1.47.27) and Ryan Schoppe (1600 meter 3.52.84) set the WORLD INDOOR RECORD last weekend beating the old record by 11 seconds and at 9.16.40 is less than a second off the outdoor record of 9.15.56.

T&F is not mentioned very often here but a world record?? Well done guys!!

The indoor track team just tied for sixth at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Even better, the distance medley team won the national championship with a 9:28:77 (14 seconds behind their IWR time at the regionals), their first ever IT&F title. Team consisted of Faoud Messaoudi running the 1200 meters in 2:53:76, Charlie Bartholomew clocking 46.66 in the 400 meters before handing off to Juan Diego Castro who put in a 1:47:85 time in the 800 meter and wrapping up with Ryan Shoppe running the 1600 meter leg in 4:00:50.

Messaoudi also won the individual title in the 3000 meters turning in a 7:48:10 about a quarter second in front of the second place finisher. Two IT&F titles in one year!! Alex Maier finished fifth with a 7:50.74 and Ryan Schoppe 14th in 8:12:15.

In the 5000 meter, Maier finished 8th about 15 seconds behind the winner and Isaiah Rodriguez 16th.
