Conference Realignment - What's next?

If ESPN and Fox say UConn is worth an equal share, then that's what they are worth, and I think it would be a good add, if that's the case. But I'd wait first to see of Oregon is available. I have a hunch that the networks have told both the Big 10 and UO that they aren't worth what the BIG pays per program. Even if they have a chance in the future, they'll make more in the Big XII than the PAC during the next contract, and it really doesn't matter if the bolt the PAC or XII in 5-10 years for the BIG if that's even an option.

Phil Knight is going to find a way to get Oregon into the little 10.

Something I've said for a long time is that once the damn bursts things happen VERY VERY quickly. We saw that in 2011. I think we are about to see that again. The damn has now burst. CU will make it official tomorrow. The rest of the dominos will fall by the end of next week. Maybe even this week.

I totally agree. IMHO, there will not be enough buy in for Oregon and Washington to join the B1G at this time. So they will join the Big 12. I think this is wonderful as long as both have an understanding. The Big 12 understands that both with jump to the B1G as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Oregon and Washington understand that they are equal members with all the other Big 12 schools. They are subject to the grant of rights just like everyone else. They can't leave early and the will not be given preferential treatment or additional money over other schools. All distributions are equal.

Honestly, if it happens and they stay for a while I think they just might come to appreciate the non-toxic and fair environment the new big 12 has developed into.

Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Utah, Arizona and ASU to the big 12 once this all settles. Yes, Utah will be begging to be part of the big 12 once the collapse happens

I think we have try outs

Everyone always talks about how bad the previous 2 Big XII commissioners were, but I believe Kliavkoff may take the cake by the time this all shakes out. That guy has been a disaster accompanied with some pretty fun sound bites from last year given recent events.

Reputable reports said Phil was on the phone all summer last year trying to get Oregon into the B1G through his Nike connections to the Universities and conference. Reportedly he even offered to pony up an entry fee and the B1G, “we’re good”

A recent Instagram post released by the Ohio State football mascot Brutus Buckeye alongside The Duck, the face for the Oregon Ducks, has a lot of fans talking. On Wednesday, the IG account posted an image of the two mascots standing together at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, and it was the caption that stuck out, in particular.

"BIG things coming," the caption read.

Big 12 leaders vote to accept Colorado, clearing the way for Buffs to depart Pac-12, AP source says

Big 12 presidents and chancellors voted unanimously Wednesday night to accept Colorado as a new member, clearing the way for the school to leave the Pac-12 and rejoin the conference, a person with knowledge of the meeting told The Associated Press.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Big 12 was not making its expansion plans public with Colorado still needing to go through a formal process on its campus and officially apply for membership. ESPN first reported the vote.

The university’s board of regents has a special meeting scheduled for Thursday with athletics operations on the agenda.

Another person familiar with the Big 12’s expansion aspirations told AP the school and league have been in contact for more than a month about a potential departure from the Pac-12; the person said it was unclear if CU had come to a decision, speaking on condition of anonymity because the Big 12 was not publicly discussing details of potential expansion plans.
