Chad Weiberg Contract Extension Approved

Time will tell, hope you’re right.

Hoyt’s in what, year 3? Lutz year 2. I don’t really understand how anyone can unequivocally declare those home runs yet.

It’s my understanding that a couple of regents stood in the way, but Gundy should have been gone last winter.

Lutz just landed his 3rd 4 star recruit in the 2026 recruiting class. People are excited about OSU basketball again. Home run hire

Yeah, Lutz and Hoyt have both created a lot of optimism in their short tenures, but should be looked at as "wait & see.." as far as credit to Weiberg. But he should've quick-trigger fired one of the longest tenured coaches after one (albeit really bad) fall-off season in 20 years, cause everyone knew this was going to continue...

I don't like the guy. He's a turncoat who bent over backwards to meet the demands of those successfully carrying out their power grab.

I know no one will understand what I'm saying. It's just… what outside and inside influences have done to some wonderful people—it's a tragedy. People being falsely accused of crimes—it's a disgrace.

I won't judge anyone for supporting the AD, because the public has no real understanding of what's been going on. It's sad.

Lutz have a team playing good basketball. We haven’t seen that in a long time. I think we have a good shot at the sweet 16 at least. I don’t think there’s any wait-and-see here. He’s a great hire.

Name all of the coaches who’ve turned something like that season around. I’ll wait.

When you’re done with that lengthy list, make another one of guys that have succeeded when they admittedly failed to embrace the fundamental change that was occurring in the sport they’re supposed to be leading.

It didn’t take Nostradamus or even Miss Cleo to see the writing on the wall with Gundy, that’s pure gaslighting.

Add a dash of insulting fans and donors for context.

We’re in the midst of an absolute sh!tshow and some of you still sit here and say bringing him back was the right thing. Unreal.

Holy crap……this thread is about AD Chad Weiberg.

If you have information why don’t you go ahead and spell it out? The vagueness is unnecessary, unless it is you just want people to think you have insider information.

I’m not the one who brought it up.
Might recheck that one

I’ll give you one: Whittingham. DGAF enough to go further, but good on Utah for giving their 20 year guy the benefit of the doubt. Ours didn’t take that opportunity the same.

As to the rest of that, I don’t buy into hindsight that hard. Maybe you should meditate or something though?

Chad seems to have done a great job on coaching hires, at least as far as we can see so far., with Hoyt, Lutz, and don’t forget David Taylor that also followed a alum/legend. The time hasn’t been there for most of them to prove it out with winning championships but reviving and excitement is certainly there. Wrestlings attention and attendance last year was nothing short of miraculous.

Also credit him, he is a fundraiser and he’s finding the funds, when many say it can’t be done. Many said he couldn’t fire Boynton because the buyout, and he did. Same with Gundy and his coaching staff, he did that too. Said we didn’t have the NIL funds to compete, yet football had 15mil at their disposal this year, and certainly enough to be competitive with.

Seems the media like RA and Haisten were making much ado about nothing over his contract situation. It was a given after he fired Gundy that it was going to get done. We just have to get through this next month of miserable football and then once the hire is named excitement will start to build again for football.

RA and Haistan are gundyphiles. Weiberg needs to explain the required loyalty to RA

I really hope CW is being pro-active right now with the coaching hire, he’s going to have to earn his pay for this one, every week there are more job openings and while not all of them are better jobs than OSU there are several that will knock OSU down the list.

FWIW I think coaching turnover is going to be the norm across college football going forward. They will jump ship or be fired like the players.

You’re right about Whittingham, I stand corrected.

He’s the exception to the rule, no doubt.
