I'm still not a believer in Robertson and the Smith trio and think we give up too many big pass plays. I liked what I saw of the defensive front last week. I'll go with Ducks 31-14 but think it can be closer than that if Meacham uses the entire field and doesn't limit pass plays to those parallel to the line of scrimmage and sideline bombs.

Weather is going to be in the 70s and cloudy, we've had some smoke from a forest fire drift into Eugene the last couple days. The fire is about 60 miles east of Eugene.
Man, I hope Lanning isn't bothered too much by the smoke. We've seen how sensitive he is.
Can't he just own that daddy bought him a slick ride?!?

I’m just hoping for good fundamental football by the Pokes. Limit mistakes and penalties and play aggressively! Then let the chips fall where they may. I’m OK with our guys playing well and getting beat by a better team. I just can’t stand watching implosions and packing it in like last year! Go ahead Cowboys, show us what you’ve got! Shock the experts and cost Vegas some money!

Who’s offended? Lanning was asked about Gundy’s comments and stated the obvious.
Like I said, I’ve got a ton of respect for Coach Gundy," Lanning said. "Ultimately, how blessed are we being at a place that’s invested in winning. If you want to be a top 10 team in college football, you better be invested in winning and we spend to win. Some people save to have an excuse for why they don’t. Ultimately, he’s a great coach that’s done an unbelievable job, but I want to be a team that’s competing at the highest level and we’re really fortunate to be in that situation. I can’t speak on their situation; I have no idea what they got in their pockets over there. I’m sure UT Martin maybe didn’t have as much as them last week, and they played. So we’ll let it play out."

I’ve had time to think about it and you’re right. It’s not an incredibly stupid look by Gundy to publicly state this in front of the world and his team. It’s pure brilliance on his part. Nothing says leader like this!

Yep, both are right and both are using things to their advantage. As has been stated, Gundy was either saying "I need more $$$ support" or "get ready for why we're gonna get mudholed" or a combo of the two.
Lanning turned that mole hill into a mountain for bulletin board fodder.
They both ended up showing they were correct.
