BYU at OSU

Even if you have no problem with anything said (I wasn't there.) or you think they are playing the victim (could be true), Steve Lutz has to go into living rooms and convince families that this is the place for their child to play basketball. I bet he doesn't want to answer questions about these types of chants. We should all want the school to be seen in a positive light. We just signed a McDonald's All American and beat a good team but the story is what happened in the stands.

Someone can come up to you and say things about you, your wife, your kids, etc. and make you boiling mad. But it's ok because you're being too sensitive and can't move on with life.
I didn't hear that to be part of the allegation the BYU coach made after the game about the fanbase. Even if he did it wouldn't matter to me, they can say it, I have a choice in how I react to it. My choice as to how I respond and how offended I would be. I wouldn't like it but it wouldn't impact how my day went.

Again, agree to disagree.

The idea that people are too sensitive is a poor excuse for bigotry and racism. I checked the game where Izzo's ex-player was thrown out. The ex-player was yelling things about the ref's wife. He got tossed, and Izzo completely agreed with that decision. That's the moral clarity that deserves admiration.

About the game last night, people are excusing the behavior (if it happened) because "everybody does it" and it's too exhausting to demand accountability. I hope that's not the attitude of our administration.

OSU is an educational institution. There are things that are far more important than wins and losses.

I don't agree the students are racists or bigots IF they said it. Maybe makes them stupid or mouth breathers. Maybe some of them are, who knows - but this ALLEGED incident doesn't make them that. This is my point, beacuse someone "perceives" it with no validation, all of sudden the people they percieved said it are bigots and racists. This is the over the top fanatical victim role playing that has our society in a such a pinch that people cannot have conversations about disagreements - and God forbid, agree to disagree on such matters.

If we are going to live by the OSU is an educational system to the exteme, then let's just cancel all athletic programs. Not give any student athlete the opportunity to learn from uncomfortabel circumstances. That will suit them well in life.

Sorry friend. If people say bigoted things, then they've owned it. If people say bigoted things, they can't excuse themselves by saying the attacked is claiming victimhood.

“Refs a Mormon” noooo no no no that is absolutely not okay. Especially when most of of our games are broadcasted on ESPN. The same company that titled one of their 30 for 30s Catholics vs Convicts.

Everyone wants the students to show up. Everyone wants it loud and rocking. You got that, now you don’t like what the students said and it’s the admin’s fault.

1. Do you think admin was telling them what to say?
2. Do you want to ban the student section?
3. How would you control instead of sitting around clutching your pearls?

I am shocked/not shocked by the many ways people are determined to justify religious bigotry.

It's not that effing hard. Just say it shouldn't have happened and ask the students to do better. Y'all always play out stupid scenarios in your head like "y'all want to ban the student section, huh." JFC, it happened, it was wrong, it deserved to be called out, and the students should be asked to do better. That's literally it. But here's to you Mr. I'm Never Offended Guy, have a Bud Light.

I hope the reports are wrong. I am upset if true.
I wasn't there but my son was. He was standing in the student section just behind where Lutz paces and he said he never heard F the mormons, was always refs a mormon. Certainly could have been a one off but, a chant from students he would have easily heard that.

Now resorting to name calling. Very mature. BTW I am offended by your JFC usage, that is blasphemy to me.
