Big 12 Seedings

Flo just released the seedings for Big 12s. Here's the link:

A couple interesting things to note is that Spratley and Tagen get the 4th seed and could get matched up with NCAA champs if they make it to the semis. Also, Hamiti gets the 1 seed over O'Toole of Mizzou. I'm very confused as to why Carter Young is not seeded. He just beat Gioffre in the Mizzou dual 11-4 and Gioffre is seeded 7th.

What do y'all think?

I want to see Spratley get another go at Strickenberger from WVU. I'd love to see him get the chance to regret his little post match celebration from the dual.

Spratley and Tagen got bad seeds. Bigger issue for Tagen as he has to go against Alvarez. Both guys now have to go through #1 seed to get to finals.

Per B12, Teague Travis will wrestle as unseeded at 149. It is tough to ask a wrestler with only a few matches under his belt to step in during a postseason tournament, but we all know what he can do. Plus, the conference has 6 pre-allocations at this weight class and that bracket is not necessarily the toughest compared to say 141.

I'm super excited for Teague to step in. I really think he could win the weight at Big 12s.

Is Carter Young hurt?
I don't have confirmation of an injury but I always thought he might have been wrestling injured. Many times we saw Sheets step in throughout the season for a handful of duals. That might be evidence that Young may have been injured throughout the year. I also wouldn't be surprised if Teague just plainly won in their wrestle-offs. Very odd to make the change now, however, right before conferences.

This would make sense given we have been so unsteady at this weight all year long but who knows.

If Travis is 100%, I think he is the best wrestler in weight class at Big12. Really pretty weak class, maybe weakest.

I don't think the fact he hasn't wrestled all year matters as long as he is in shape. Maybe better as all the nagging injuries have healed.

He was pretty close to placing last year at 157. I think 149 this year is a much weaker weight class, so he could AA.
