With his likely by-out talk is about all they can do. lol. There will be many thoughts in Norman about the employment of Mr. Venables.

That would be hilarious. Kinda like booking the first flight on the Hidenberg II had that occurred without any revisions.Who are they going to hire that is better?
They probably want someone experienced. The SEC thing is a bit of a struggle so far so someone with experience building a program up who is seen as a but eccentric. Probably someone local who understands their culture-maybe even related to a former player/coach.
Can anyone think of a coach like that?
Vegetable is a pretty good DC, but I don't think he's the guy who can take them to the promised land.I’d imagine Venables will be back on the hot seat next year when they drop back down a bit. They had a lot of bounces go there way this year to sneak into the playoff. Their D was solid and put them in games with an anemic offense and erratic QB. Most of that D though will be gone next year with the exception of a couple of DL and DBs, which was their weakest link anyway. I’m sure they’ll buy some guys in the portal, but most of their D this year was homegrown or had been in the system a couple years. I think they’ll see a drop off plugging in a bunch of new guys. I also wonder if Arbuckle and Mateer stick around. Venables wants to win ugly with his defense and that’s probably frustrating for them.
