So they’re disobeying the Supreme Court about racial discrimination policies.

That’s surprising.

Headline is a little misleading/inaccurate.

The lower court order that was affirmed was for a second majority Black House District or "something close to it".

They "proposed a map that would increase the percentage of Black voters in the 2nd Congressional District from about 30% to nearly 42.5%, wagering that would satisfy the court — or that the state will prevail in a second round of appeals."

So they didn't expressly reject the court's order. They are, however, clearly playing games with the "something close to it" language.

SCOTUS shot it down again so now Alabama will forfeit any maps they submitted and the district court will now select the map for 2024
