2 armed suspects where captured and arrested

Fire Department Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins said eight to 10 people were injured but declined further comment, saying only that additional information will be released soon.

The University Health Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, received five people from Union Station, according to the medical center's managing communications director Keith King.

According to King, the medical center is treating two gunshot victims.

“A third gunshot victim is coming to University Health. We are treating two other people for non-gunshot related injuries,” he told CNN.
The Kansas City Fire Department said there are upwards of 10 victims after a shooting took place at a rally celebrating the Chiefs Super Bowl victory.

Lisa Augustine, spokesperson for Children’s Mercy Kansas City, said the hospital “is receiving patients from the rally.” She didn’t know how many or immediately offer any details about their injuries.

The University of Kansas Health System was treating one person wounded in the shooting, said Jill Jensen Chadwick, news director for the health system. She didn’t know the person’s condition.

  • One person is dead, the fire department said.
  • Three people are listed in critical condition.
  • Five have serious injuries
  • one has non-life-threatening injuries.

Both Kansas and Missouri governors were at the scene of the shooting

The governors of both Kansas and Missouri were at today's Chiefs parade and said they were safely evacuated after the shooting.

"At the end of the Chiefs rally, shots were fired near Union Station. I have been evacuated and am out of harm’s way," Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly said on X. "I encourage everyone to follow instructions and updates from @kcpolice. Please stay safe."

A post on Missouri Gov. Mike Parson's X account said he and the first lady were there when shots were fired, but both are now "safe and secure."

"As we wait to learn more, our hearts go out to the victims," Parson's account posted.

Terrible news. I wonder if it was planned or just an altercation between two people that turned deadly.
NBC is reporting

The shooting appears to be criminal in nature and not terrorism, according to an early and preliminary investigation, three law enforcement officials briefed on the incident said.

Other people reported shots a few blocks away from Union Station 10-15 min before the gunfire started at Union Station. Might be a criminal event that spilled over into the Parade.

Over 1000 people could get killed at an unbelievable mass shooting event and Republicans would still feel helpless to do anything about preventing more in the future, due to their faithfulness to the 2nd Amendment, like the part of it where it reads, "The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” They would simply say that around 40,000 people are killed in car accidents every year, yet nobody talks of banning sales of cars because of it. Like guns, cars don't kill people, either.

Lets send our continued thanks to these people for sacrificing themselves to protect the 1 single amendment that about 40% of this country can name (or care about). I can't wait for absolutely nothing to change, and for this story to fade away in about 2 days.
