    Big 12 Seedings

"I'm super excited for Teague to step in. I really think he could win the weight at Big 12s." If Travis is 100%, I think he is the best wrestler in weight class at Big12. Really pretty weak class, maybe weakest. I don't think the fact he hasn't wrestled all year matters as long as he is in...

    Big 12 Seedings

Spratley and Tagen got bad seeds. Bigger issue for Tagen as he has to go against Alvarez. Both guys now have to go through #1 seed to get to finals.

    Jax Forrest

At 285, of the top 20 raked wrestlers, 14 are seniors. At 14 is Pitzer of Pitt who Doucet beat. The only non seniors ahead of Pitzer are guys from NC State, Iowa, Ohio State and VT. Maybe guy from VT is better than Doucet, maybe not. So unless you get one of top 3 guys, will be hard to...

    Jax Forrest

Very early to think about next year. But Ducet looks like an AA as 285 weight class will lose a lot of the top guys (8 of top 10 in Intermat rankings, 9 of top 12). I think Ducet is around top 12 in current class, So should be AA next year. Would be hard to find someone better to transfer in...

    Cael Hughes or Reece Witcraft?

I think Reece is a great guy, but my view is he will struggle to be an AA. I think Cael is a championship contender. I have not seen or heard of how they match up in practice, but for me hard to imagine Reece is close. Cael is a big 133, but so are other top 133 pounders. To me the...

Why didn't Cam wrestle at 165?

Should be great dual. VT is favored at 149, though Young wrestled tough at CK. OSU should win 285 and 184 without much problem, but even at 184 Stewart was very good last year. Rest of matches (assuming it is the above lineup, could go either way). The rematch at 197 is one I would like to see.

Before CK you would have made the Sooners favored to win at 133, 141, 149, and 157. 4 out of 10. Part of that is/was the Sooners best wrestlers were generally at the our weakest weights. But after CK, Sooners are only favored at 133 and Witcraft looked good at CK.

Yes, Surber was highlight. Has tough match against Wyoming. Then comes CK, and we will get to see where everyone is. AJ will be at CK so Surber will have work cut out for him.

Weight by Weight Preview - All Weights

I like your predictions. My 2 cents. I agree with 125 and 133. At 141, Jamison was a much better wrestler early in year, beating Brock Hardy (who placed 3rd) at CK. Also, I have seen replays of Hughes freestyle matches. Not only was he very, very good, what he did in freestyle translates...

    Wrestling Starters next year

I agree that Surber has a chance to be an AA. He wasn't that far off in 2022/2023 season. I think he was in round of 16. Lost to guy from Cornell (who has transferred to Michigan) who finished 8th. 2023/2024 season was bust for him as was injured and at less than 100%. I think fact OSU...

    Wrestling Starters next year

When you look at OSU's 2025 recruits, hard to justify redshirts when incoming freshman may be better. To me looks like #1 recruiting class. I think they may try to get Fish to get down to 157 instead of redshirt and see if Travis can go at 149. If Hughes can make 133, he starts there. If not...

    Wrestling Starters next year

Listened to Coach Taylor's interview. Was ask about 133 and 149. Both answers were coy. When discussing !33 starters he mentioned Hughes, Witcraft, McComas, and Blankenship with comment one of more competitive weights. With 149 he mentioned no names. My prediction. If Hughes can make 133...

    Wrestling Starters next year

Wrestlestat has Witcraft at 133, Hughes at 141, and Jamison at 149. I don't know if that is correct, but seems reasonable. And if Jamison cannot wrestle till January, Young can fill in at 149. I kinda of hate to see Hughes go at 141, as that weight class will be brutal while I see 133 as...

    Wrestling Starters next year

You said Jamison isn't eligible till January. So is he the 141 pounder after January? Wrestlestat has Hughes at 133, Jamison at 141, Young at 149, and Travis at 157. What do you think?
