On paper the weak spots in lineup are 141 and 157.

Kinda of surprised to see Hughes at 133 and not 141. Also surprised to see Carter Young as starter. He has been a stud in freestyle. And he has not been able to compete at his best weight class. But he has started 3 years and been disappointing all 3.

    2025-2026 Lineup Look

When looking at 141, 149, and 157, I think OSU has 3 very good wrestlers in Hughes, Swiderski, and Jamison. I think Hughes is the only one that can make 141 and compete at top form. Jamison was at 141 last 2 years and faded at nationals (though not as bad last year). Jamison always looked too...

    2025-2026 Lineup Look

Been some time since projected lineup was posted. I go to Wrestlestat on occasion and they list projected lineup for different teams. The projected lineup for OSU recently changed. Current lineup (with prior): 126 Spratley 133 Figueroa 141 Carter Young ( was Cael Hughes) 149 Swiderski...

    Top 5 new football coaches

You never know when you hire a coach. They may be good or bad. But if you hire a good coach who is successful without ties, he goes to better program which is very disruptive to program. If you hire guy with ties who want to be at OSU, maybe you get long run with him (as we did with Gundy)...

    Top 5 new football coaches

A few thoughts. First, OSU needs to hire someone with OSU connections. If OSU just hires the latest hot coach without OSU connections, he leaves to a better program if he is successful and we get stuck with a big buyout if he is a flop. Second, given NIL, recruiting may be much less important...

Who will be named Starter at QB?

Even if there was a starter, would be smart not to name him. Given one is more of a runner, may be a bit more room to rotate a bit. If Floras is starter, pretty easy to put Hejny in in short yardage situations, goal line situations, and situations where you want to run to kill clock. If...

    Transfer Portal

My guess is AJ goes 285. Was looking a little big for 197. PSU will be favored next year, and after that Nebraska, Iowa, OSU, and maybe Iowa State. Given what we had to start year, we greatly exceeded expectations. If we can do that again, we should place second.

    2025-2026 Lineup Look

"Having Dee at 157 could work out well. Redshirt Robideau, have Facundo go 165 which might be favorable for him after his cut to 157 last season, have Ryder go 174, and then fill in Thompson at 184." That creates a really strong lineup. While you don't know who get slotted in at 141 and 149...

    2025-2026 Lineup Look

I think 157 is weaker weight class than 165. Guy from PSU and Iowa are beasts at 165. Guy from NU won 157, and I don't think he is at same level. Lockett at 157 might be favored to win NCAAs. At 165, he would be slotted at 3rd.

    2025-2026 Lineup Look

I think Brayden starts at 184 and Ryder at 174. To me that makes most sense. When you look at clips from Ryder wrestling last season, he is clearly small for 184. Even the announcers said 174 is the better weight for him. And 174 looks to be much easier weight class next year than 184. At...

Way to early thread...will we be better next year?

If you look at where we were at start of last season, and compare that to where we are now, we are much better. Last year we were returning 1 guy who was an AA, Plott who was second, and got Hendrickson as a transfer who placed 3rd in 2023/24 year. Hamiti had placed 7th(?) twice, but failed to...

    2025-2026 Lineup Look

If you look at liineup I posted earlier, and move Ryder to 184 and Facundo to 174 ( or Facundo at 165 and Lockett at 174), other than 157 I think we have a guy that should be an AA (accept that I am a homer).

    2025-2026 Lineup Look

I thought he would stay and they would have Ryder at 174. Looks like I was wrong. He was David Taylor's sparing partner for world's so one assumes Taylor has a very good feel for how good he is. To me it is Facundo or Thompson. Ryder starts, just where, 174 or 184. If Thompson leaves...
