Looks like Hoyt whiffed on several portal pick up after batting 1.000 last season
Fennelly is an excellent coach and does a great job recruiting players to fit his system. Today it showed.
We played seven and got 27 minutes from our bench, ISU played nine and got 53 minutes out of their bench. Hoyt has to find some more players to give the starters a rest.
We got destroyed on the boards, 48-21. Embarrassing. Hoyt needs to find someone with experience coaching bigs. Gusters is 6-5, but she is not aggressive in the paint. Too many times a shot went up and while ISU players went to the basket, our players were standing around or heading back up court. Several times a missed shot hit the floor and was grabbed by an ISU player because our players were nowhere around. We got schooled in the paint. If Eddie was coaching this team, the players would be in football gear at the next practice, working on rebounding and wishing they were somewhere else.

We only had 5 turnovers and they had 18. But ISU shot over 52% and of course had the rebounding advantage.
Gusters played 20 minutes and only had 1 rebound. I thought she'd bring some physical play that had been missing, but not so far. This is a finesse team right now, and if they don't shoot well they are done.
Losing at home to a middle of the pack team puts them behind the 8 ball right off the bat.
