2024 Presidential Election

IF joe loses 2024 election to don, and crazies decide to storm the Capital, do conservatives say, 'I understand, I feel your pain, been there - done that'...or do they condemn it?; rock and a hard place...
Condemn it. Other than looney toons there was no one that supported what happened on Jan 6th.

Well no one "stormed the capital" that day, they went on a calm unguided tour and voiced their opinion... or they were all Federal government plants. Pretty sure that's what GOP reps are saying these days. So they'd be totally free to comdem it since it would be totally different.

Above is soaked in sarcasm and annoyance at the revisionist history they are peddling.

FIFY: decaying vs decaying and deranged mind...your choice...
i'm pretty sure that two turds stacked on top of each other wearing a suit would do a better Job than Trump. I'm not so sure that isn't what is going on right now and it is still better than Trump. I'm about 89% sure Biden isn't at the Helm, but the folks he has surrounded himself with have done a great job keeping everything on the rails and moving forward for the most part.

I'm not having to worry about Trumps antics or insane crap with him as Commander in Chief of the most powerful military in the history of the world right now and I would take 4 more years of this than see Trump get another shot, because that dude is all about Trump and NOTHING else. EVER. I think he would launch nukes at any country asked of him as long as the person bowed down and treated him like a God and praised him. Regardless of target. You fingerblast this guys ego enough and he will do ANYTHING for you to keep doing it and THOSE are the people will surround himself with (did the same thing last time ...remember ONLY THE BEST) and when Trump goes off rails and those folks around him start pulling the strings...........its going to be chaos and brawls and most likely in American streets against other Americans

Would interested to see the total number of people in each of those demographic groups that those percentages translates into.
Found this and did some calculating. Gets close but not exact. Numbers are in MM. %s are eyeball extrapolations from PF5’s chart)

19-25=28.7 (49.1%)=15
26-34=40.6 (62.7%)=25.5
35-54=84.8 (71ish%)=58
55-64=42.6 (74.4%)=31.5
65+=56.1 (77ish%)=43

Good stuff, thank you.

We could go further and look at the numbers/percentages of each group that actually show up at the polls. I'm not going to do it, but I'm sure someone has. I know it skews heavily towards older voters being much more active at the polls. Hope the young folks realize what is at stake in November and vote.

From statista and the 2020 election.

Same #s posted above w 2 more data sets. Next to last () is the % of registered voters in that demo that turned out. Second set of () is exit polling on how they voted R then D.

Since the data demos don’t line up apples for apples some of the %s are extrapolated and eyeballed assuming #s skew equally across age groups. They don’t but this would get in the parking lot of the ball park.

So in the 19-25 demo there are approx 28,700,000 million USers. 49.1% are registered to vote or 15,000,000. Of which 48% of registered voters in that demo voted of which 35% went to Trump and 62% went to Biden.

19-25=28.7(49.1%)=15(48%)(35/62)

26-34=40.6(62.7%)=25.5(55%)(45/52)

35-54=84.8 (71ish%)=58(60%)(49/50)

55-64=42.6(74.4%)=31.5(65%)(49/50)

65+=56.1 (77ish%)=43(72%)(51/48)

Note I didn’t do the math to see if this gets close to actual 2020 results as I’m not looking to debate. Just googled and tried to calculate.

When journalists ask their questions and politicians answer I wish the question back would be what is the premise of your question and what is to be gained from an answer. Are we really talking about what is truthful or searching for it or are we doing something else?

It’s just mind boggling that 50% of the country is ok w a Presidential candidate that (1) has advisors who will assume key spots in his admin that are openly discussing the roundup of 10,000,000+ people and (2) openly talks about encouraging Russia to destroy key allies.

Just think about those 2 things. I mean really pause and think about what will happen to the US economy and security for decades to come. Take off your partisan hat and imagine what happens when you take 5,000,000 workers out of the economy so suddenly and eliminate key trading partners bc you won’t defend an ally.

To point #2

His statement today is just absolute off the rails bat 💩 bonkers. It needs to be discussed and explained how bad this will be on the average American on every oped. In every political talk show. It is one of the most dangerous things a candidate let alone a former president has ever uttered. On a 1-10 scale of Joe confusing Mexico and Egypt this is an 11.5.

One of the most often cited reasons for voting for Trump is he follows through on his promises.

If this becomes official US policy world markets will crash. Russia and Iran will dominate and threaten world energy markets.

I cannot believe this is just being ho hummed about.

Agree completely.

It will effectively end NATO (Putin and China would love this). No defense pact is worth anything if the strongest member refuses to participate.

Candidate 1. Can't remember every detail but won't end the world order and is trying to bridge the political gap.
Candidate 2. Also has memory issues (thinks cognitive tests are intelligence tests vs dimentia tests), only cares about himself, placates and defends dictators who murders thousands, refuses to support our allies, steals government secrets and stores at his house where many foreign visitors come through (who knows what happened to documentsin empty folders), states clearly he wouldn't support our allies, intentionally increases political anger and divides the population, etc etc... oh and who knows what laws he would knowingly break in his own interest or if he would completely ignore the constitution as he claims he should have immunity from all possible charges and the GOP refuses to check his power in any way.

I choose 1... and it's not close.
