Cowgirls NCAA seed

I see what you did there...

Seth Meyers Tip Of The Hat GIF by Late Night with Seth Meyers

SDSU is a tough draw. Coach Aaron Johnson is one of the best coaches in all of college basketball, he just never wanted to leave SDSU. We play a similar style, but think our bigs will push us over the top.

I'm looking forward to a competitive game with two coaches who have enough recent history to make it entertaining. OSU Coach Hoyt coached against SDSU's Aaron Johnston's teams for two seasons, 2020-21 and 2021-22, when Kansas City (UMKC) returned to the Summit League after spending three years in the WAC. Coach Johnston's Jackrabbits won all four conference games against Hoyt's Kansas City teams.

It can be argued that the Summit League had better teams when Hoyt was at Kansas City. Consider this: SDSU is undefeated in Summit League regular-season games for the past three years. That says something about the Jackrabbits but, unfortunately, also says a lot about the rest of the Summit League. I think the Jackrabbits can shift gears for the post season and will be prepared to play bigger, faster teams similar to some SDSU faced in its non-conference schedule. The last non-conference game SDSU played before starting the Summit League schedule this season, was in Austin where Texas pounded on us, 103-57. We all know about how good Texas is but the Jacks were capable of giving them a better game -- we just stumbled in that one.

Great write up, and always great to get the other teams perspective! And apologize on the typo on Coach AJ.

Wasn’t able to watch many SDSU games this season because they went to Midco Plus, but love the way they play. Really interested in the post matchup, B. Meyer and Magassa will be fun to watch.

Also secretly rooting for Vasecka, super talented and from my hometown.

Vasecka has a great future. She missed the last couple of regular season games...wearing a boot. The boot was off during the Summit League Tourney but she didn't play. Coach AJ keeps it close to the vest on injuries so we don't know if she'll be playing. She's an imipressive freshman. I think she's the only injured player right now.
