That's the point, that's an example of contracts that have teeth

They announced their intent to leave, then negotiated. We both know they dont leave until July 1. They couldnt leave until a deal was negotiated and agreed upon

Contracts can always be broken, but there is a price to pay, and often it's quite expensive to get out of. The big 12 stood to gain quite a lot of money by OU and texas leaving early. On top of moving two recruiting giants out of the conference, it was a good day for many big 12 teams. If you...

When? these contracts are in place into 2030 and beyond. If anything changes, it'll more likely be that the whole sport is affected, beyond the conference level. I.e. something that favors the programs in two major conferences & leaving everyone else out. After the recent realignment, the 2nd...

college football isnt like the united states. Not everyone is equal and they can not be treated equally. We both know that it's asinine that boise state and georgia play for the same championship. The mid majors need to have their own playoffs. And really it seems like acc/big 12 should be...

Viewership by conference is a large factor in what the value of the overall deal is with espn or fox or whoever. And the sec and big 10 have the most viewers, which is a primary reason why they have the most lucrative deals. I am not sure I follow your point here. They split their revenues...

Considering the fact that current sec and big 10 teams (i am including OU, texas and usc) have won 20 national championships in the last 24 years, it would appear they have in fact proved it on the field. In that time, clemson and fsu are the only two non big 10 or sec teams to win one.

They carry the water for the sport in general, they make the most money, send the most players to the nfl. it only makes sense
