Border problem.

So poor people can't know God? I'm confused by your statement. Luke 6:20. Looking at his disciples, he (Jesus) said: 'Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God." Psalm 82:3-4. "Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hands of the wicked."

I'm saying I believe that a higher % of immigrants crossing the border are practicing and devote followers of Christ than the % of Americans receiving Welfare are devote and practicing Christians

Eric Swalwell Hits GOP With Border Bill Reality Check: 'Have You All Lost Your Minds?'

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) delivered a brutal reality check to Republicans over the bipartisan border bill Wednesday by naming the reason they oppose it.

“Let me bring everybody back to reality and give you a little history lesson. The reason you oppose the bill is not because you have any policy issues with it... You oppose it because Donald Trump opposes it,” said Swalwell at a House Judiciary Committee markup meeting.

He continued, “Donald Trump opposes it because Donald Trump wants to be president because Donald Trump has 91 felony counts that he’s facing and the only way that those go away and he is not held accountable is if he’s president.”

Senate Republicans blocked the bill last month after Trump urged them not to back it, with some GOP lawmakers declaring that a border deal would benefit President Joe Biden ahead of the November election.

Swalwell took aim at Republicans who follow Trump, claiming that the former president wants “the issue, not the solution.”

“Have you all lost your minds?” asked Swalwell as he noted that Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.), the “second-most conservative member of the Senate,” was the top GOP negotiator for the bill.

“He wrote the toughest border security bill that has come out of the Senate and President Biden engaged with him with other Democrats to find a solution because they’re in the solutions business and you’re in the chaos business.”

The problem is, they simply do not care.

In the past seems people were partisan, but also were not so partisan that they held their "side" accountable.

The idea that a party would kill a bill that their side won from a policy standpoint because more than a year before an election they want the problem to continue to harm the country so that they have campaign material should get a complete no from the American people.

But, now people are all about their side over the country.

In the past, I used to state that politics has gotten like college sports. If a player from "my" team got a DUI and stayed on the team it was a kind coach giving a second chance to a young man. If the rival did it, they were keeping criminals for football wins.

But, that analogy is wrong now and they have gone far past that. In the state of Oklahoma, we don't get along with the other team. But, can you imagine if there was a natural disaster deciding if you would help based on if it would help out the University of Oklahoma teams? That is the level our politicians are functioning at now.

Texas is a Great Barrier now ??? Is Trump legit going to say that the Texas Border is Secure now ?? HAHA WOW

Fact Check: Trump claims 325,000 migrants ‘were flown in from parts unknown’

In remarks Tuesday night, former President Donald Trump said, “It was announced that 325,000 people were flown in from parts unknown. Migrants were flown in — airplane — not going through borders, not going through that great Texas barrier.”

Facts First: This is misleading.

Trump appeared to be citing a new report released by the Center for Immigration Studies, a think tank that supports curbing immigration to the United States. In a March 4 piece, Todd Bensman, a senior national security fellow at CIS, outlined information he says he obtained through a FOIA lawsuit, stating that that US Customs and Border Protection “approved secretive flights” that brought 320,000 migrants to select airports in the US last year.

CBP, though, did not facilitate the flights, and the program by which the migrants entered the United States is public information, not secretive. The article also omits who is being flown within or to the United States: migrants who are approved and vetted.

Migrants who flew to and within the United States were allowed entry and thoroughly vetted through CBP One — a mobile app that allows users to schedule appointments to claim asylum with border authorities.

There are also multiple parole programs that allow individuals to enter and live in the United States for a temporary period, typically no longer than a year. These programs include family reunification, which is available on a case-by-case basis and by invitation only as well as a separate humanitarian parole program for migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. After receiving approval, such migrants may enter the US through a land port of entry or fly into the US, but they are responsible for paying for their own flights.

In January, for example, CBP processed around 45,000 individuals through CBP One appointments at ports of entry, according to federal data.

Since the parole program for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans (CHNV) was introduced more than a year ago, over 386,000 people of those nationalities have arrived. In addition to vetting, those who enter the US under that parole program are also required to have sponsors in the US. The purpose of the program is to keep people from crossing the border illegally by providing a legal pathway to the US.

It’s unclear how CIS reached the 320,000 figure, which the group attributes to information received via its lawsuit. The article says the government characterizes the programs as family reunification programs.

A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland security told CNN, “More than 14 months ago, on January 5, 2023, DHS announced processes providing certain Cubans, Haitians, and Nicaraguans who have a supporter in the United States, undergo and clear robust security vetting, and meet other eligibility criteria, to come to the United States in a safe, orderly, and lawful way. These processes were built on the success of the process for Venezuelans.”

“These processes are part of the Administration’s strategy to combine expanded lawful pathways with stronger consequences to reduce irregular migration, and have kept hundreds of thousands of people from migrating irregularly. The CHNV parole processes are public; claims of a secret program are false,” the spokesperson added.

The CIS article says the government told it that disclosing information about the airports involved could create “operational vulnerabilities” at those airports, saying that sharing operational details would open up the program to exploitation by “bad actors.” Although the CIS article calls the government’s position “novel and newsworthy,” the government’s response is standard for inquiries involving law enforcement.

Republicans have slammed the Biden administration’s use of parole – which has been used by many administrations – arguing that officials are using the authority too broadly.

The Biden administration has leaned on parole in urgent situations, including to admit Afghans after the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, Ukrainians after Russia’s invasion, and other times, to allow migrants from designated countries to temporarily live and work in the US as a way to mitigate surges at the border.

You use a poll that states that twice as many immigrants identify with democrats than republicans to somehow argue that immigrants aren’t going to vote for democrats?

I saw an article about the results of a study that had a headline stating that people taking Ozempic have a 40% higher risk of medullary thyroid cancer. Well, that's concerning. So, looked up the study. The risk of medullary thyroid cancer is 3/10000. If you take Ozempic for several years, it increases to 5/10000. That's a 40% increase!!! But, let's be real, that is not in context. That is a math hack job by a crap journalist that wanted to get views.

I showed a poll that shows that 32% would vote democrat and 16% would vote Republican. That leaves 52% as independent or not sure but in our horrible system they will be essentially forced to vote one way or the other.

Depending on the election, it could go either way as MORE THAN HALF are not even decided. That is the real math. And is a very far cry from your absurd statement that "they won't vote republican" when a simple search shows a ton of articles saying that many would. Especially if the republican party wasn't a shitshow of insanity.

Like Trump, your thinly veiled bigotry is showing.

Do you think they are going to vote republican?
Maybe read Elon’s post again….for. actual comprehension this time.

They’re not voting anything when it comes to federal elections, dimwit.

They’re not citizens. They’re illegal aliens. Heck, the LEGAL aliens don’t get to vote in federal elections.

They’re only increasing the number of House seats in Congress in the state in which they reside….and not getting to vote .

If Texas kept them, it could increase its number of seats in a predominately red state….they’re not voting for who gets those seats because they can’t.

Good point. I was thinking far future if they became citizens. But if illegal, that would not even likely happen.

Good grief. They are already voting in local elections in parts of the US and they will eventually be voting in federal elections. It's just a matter of time. The democrats know it, the republicans know it, you self described taints evidently do not. And when they do it will be 2 to 1 democrat over republican. 2.5 million crossed in 2023 along with over 800k got aways. Do you seriously think Texas, or any other state for that matter, can possibly handle that every year? They will end up in California and New York and eventually increase their seats in Congress.
